The BFG

Our shared book in Room 2 is the BFG by Roald Dahl. We have read the first two chapters together. Today we had to draw or create (with playdough) what we thought the BFG would look like, based on the description in chapter two. We also wrote down what we thought the BFG used the trumpet for. Here are some of our pictures and ideas.

Describe the BFG in your own words.

His nose is as sharp as a knife and he is taller than the house. The BFG has big ears. By Kyren

He has a black coat and he blows on the trumpet. By Suga-Rae

The giant has a pointy nose. It has shiny eyes. By Ailani

He has ears as big as elephant ears and he's got a spiky nose like a knife. By Joel

He's got magic dust and big ears! By Fairlane

What do you think the BFG uses the long, thin trumpet for?

For blowing the kids their dreams. To make the kids be good for their mums. By Stella

To wake up children and parents as well. By Jacob

He blows magic dust in the windows to make them wake up early in the morning. By Tumai

To wake them up when the witching hour is over. By Luke
